Supporting Community Families Touched by Cancer
CANCER. . . a very scary word that sends shivers through everyone. At best, it’s an illness that can be cut out, radiated or chemo’d into long-term remission. It always remains in the background after it strikes. At its worst, it causes much pain and suffering for patients, their families, and their community. Billions have been spent developing treatments and still it remains a significant blight on humanity. What can we do?
Enter the Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation! Founded in 2004 by a small group of concerned local citizens who had a heart for cancer patients, GCCF was formed as a 100% volunteer non-profit whose sole mission is to help cancer patients and their families in South Lake County, Florida. Nineteen years later, we still remain dedicated to that mission. We are STILL 100% volunteer and our exclusive focus remains South Lake County, Florida cancer patients and their families!!
Who and What is GCCF?
The Greater Clermont Cancer Foundation’s (GCCF) mission is to provide financial assistance, support and comfort to persons fighting cancer that live in South Lake County Florida. GCCF also provides scholarships to immediate family members or the patient themselves who have been impacted by a cancer diagnosis.
GCCF is not affiliated with any other area or national organizations and we strive to provide services not available from those groups. Our service area is the South Lake County community including Clermont, Minneola, Howey-in-the-Hills, Montverde, Groveland and Mascotte and the surrounding South Lake County area.
About us
Our vision is for all affected families in the greater Clermont community to have access to healthcare support and the opportunity for a meaningful and enjoyable family life experience. The mission of the Foundation is to create a less stressful and more purposeful day-to-day life and family experience for area patients, by providing limited financial aid and support focused on reducing the day to day stresses that Cancer has on patients, their families and caregivers.
We are a 501(c)(3) foundation, funded by local business sponsors, organizations, individuals and fundraising community events. GCCF is 100% volunteer staffed and 100% of granted funds are disbursed to qualified recipients in the local area. Wherever possible, all of our purchases are also made within the local area.
